About Us

Kia ora! My name is Kaz and I'm your host here at Aroā Arts.

Aroā Arts was born out of a need to nurture my own creativity and provide mahi that enables me to spend more time with my family. Reflecting on my own need to be creative, I loved the idea of being able to provide a creative space for other people too.

I'm a strong believer that everyone can create art. Whether that is with paint, creative writing, digital art, working with clay, dance, carving pounamu, creating music-the list is endless! The human essence is innately creative and thrives when creative opportunities are experienced.

The beauty about being creative is that everyone perceives things differently. Where one person might pull focus on the vibrancy in colour a rose has, another person may have their focus on the structure of the flower.

I chose "Aroā Arts" to celebrate everyone who walks through my door and the very special aroā they bring with them. We can appreciate the many different beauties in the world by celebrating each others creative differences.
